How to use EPVotes.eu
Choose a vote and a country. The visualisation shows results by European political group, by national party, and for individual MEPs. How does the European Parliament vote?
In plenary sessions (usually in Strasbourg), the European Parliament votes on amendments and on texts such as Commission proposals, committee reports, and resolutions. For roll-call votes, each MEP’s individual vote is published. MEPs can vote In favor, Against, Abstain, or be Absent. On EPVotes.eu you can filter votes by type, committee and free text. The most common types used on the site are listed below.

| CPr | Commission proposal | A legislative or non-legislative proposal submitted by the European Commission and voted on in Parliament. |
| CPa | Commission proposal & amendments | A Commission proposal where Parliament also votes on one or more amendments related to the proposal. |
| CRp | Committee report | A report prepared by a parliamentary committee and voted on in plenary (often with amendments). |
| Mfr | Motion for a resolution | A resolution proposed by an MEP, committee, or political group to state Parliament’s position or call on EU institutions to act. |
| Mwh | Motion (as a whole) | The final vote on a motion/resolution as a whole, after any amendments have been decided. |
| ODt | Other document | Votes on other types of documents that do not fit the categories above. |
| Pfr | Proposal for rejection | A proposal to reject a text (for example an act, proposal, or agreement) instead of adopting it. |
| PrA | Provisional agreement | A vote on a provisional agreement reached during negotiations (trilogue) between EU institutions. |
| DCd | Draft Council Decision | A draft decision prepared by the Council of the EU, submitted to the European Parliament for consent, approval, or consultation. |
